When does the Antalya rafting season open and close?
As a rough guide, the Koprulu Canyon rafting season runs from April to the end of October. Trips through the Koprulu Canyon National Park near Beskonak begin in spring as the weather warms and the river settles, and they wind down in mid to late autumn. Through the winter the tours simply do not run, because the Koprucay is too high, too fast and far too cold for a safe, enjoyable family day out.

What drives the season dates?
The rhythm of the season is set by the mountains that feed the river. A few factors matter most:
- Snowmelt. The Koprucay is fed by melting snow from the Taurus mountains. In April and May that snowmelt makes the river fuller and livelier, so the spring rapids feel more energetic.
- Water level and flow. Very high, fast water in deep winter is unsafe for recreational rafting, which is why the season waits for spring and closes once autumn conditions change.
- Water temperature. This is snowmelt water, so it stays genuinely cold even in July and August. That is part of the fun on a hot day, but it also explains why the season is tied to the warmer months.

High summer (June to August)
The flow eases into a gentler, sunnier experience, ideal for first-timers and families with children. The cold water is wonderfully refreshing against the coastal heat, and this is the busiest holiday period, so booking ahead is wise.
Autumn (September to October)
Quieter, with pleasant temperatures and lovely light in the canyon. A lovely time to visit if you prefer fewer crowds towards the tail end of the season.
Planning your holiday around the season
