Belek is one of Turkey's most polished resort strips, but it is not the first place people picture for white-water rafting. So is Belek a good rafting base for a day on the Koprucay? The honest answer is yes, with one small caveat about distance.
The distance question, answered honestly
Rafting near Antalya takes place on the Koprucay river, which runs through Koprulu Canyon National Park near Beskonak. From Belek, Kadriye and Bogazkent the drive is around an hour each way. That is a little longer than the run from Side or Manavgat, which sit somewhat closer to the canyon.
We will not pretend Belek is the nearest base, because it is not. If you are the type who counts every minute on the road, Side shaves a bit off the journey. But that extra time is modest, and it comes with a genuine upside: the scenery on the way up into the mountains is part of the experience, not dead time.
Why free pickup makes the distance irrelevant
Here is the part that changes everything. Free hotel pickup by minibus is standard from Belek, Kadriye and Bogazkent, so you never touch a steering wheel, a map or a car park. A comfortable air-conditioned minibus collects you from your resort in the morning and brings you back late afternoon or early evening.
When someone else drives, the difference between a one-hour and a 45-minute transfer is barely noticeable. You settle in, watch the pine forests and river valleys roll past, and arrive at the rafting base relaxed. For all-inclusive golf-resort guests who have left the car at home, this is genuinely the easiest way to reach the canyon.
What the rafting day actually involves
The classic run through Koprulu Canyon covers around 14 kilometres of grade II to III water. It is exciting without being extreme, which makes it a strong choice for families, couples and first-timers as well as confident swimmers looking for a splash.
- A trained guide is in every raft, so you are never on your own.
- All safety gear is provided, including helmet, life jacket and paddle.
- The water is cold, fresh snowmelt, so expect a bracing, refreshing ride.
- The season runs roughly April to October, matching the Belek holiday calendar.

Who Belek suits best
Belek is an excellent rafting base if you are staying at one of its golf or luxury all-inclusive resorts and want a proper active day out without hiring a car. It suits families who value the door-to-door convenience, couples adding a shot of adventure to a spa-and-golf break, and anyone who would rather be collected than navigate mountain roads.
If your priority is the shortest possible transfer above all else, Side or Manavgat edge ahead by a few minutes. For nearly everyone else based in Belek, the free pickup wipes out that gap entirely.
Booking direct from Belek
A quick word on cost. We never quote fixed prices here because the right figure depends on the season, group size and pickup point, so always check the live price. What we can say plainly is that booking direct is usually better value than going through a hotel rep or a large online travel agency, both of which add their own margin. You also deal with the people actually running your raft.
