Köprülü Kanyon National Park was declared on 12 December 1973 and officially covers 47,473 hectares — national park no. 14 of Türkiye (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, DKMP list).
The canyon is 14 km long — the longest canyon in Türkiye — with walls up to 100 m high (Ministry of Culture and Tourism).

The river

The Köprüçay is the ancient Eurymedon; it runs 178 km from a source at 2,151 m in the Taurus mountains (GoTürkiye).
No dam sits on the rafting section — the river is free-flowing there; Oymapınar Dam is on the Manavgat, a different river (Akseki District Governorship).
The rafting course is about 12–14 km, mostly Grade II with occasional Grade III, starting ~100 m below the Roman Oluk Bridge (industry consensus: Nomado; start point: nationalparksofturkey.com).
The 2nd-century Oluk Bridge stands ~27 m above the water; a second Roman bridge crosses the same river 42 km downstream at Aspendos (Wikipedia, after Galliazzo 1994).
DSİ has kept official flow records for the Köprüçay since the late 1950s (DSİ yearbooks) — yet no verified public water-temperature figure exists.

Law & safety

Commercial rafting is governed by the Regulation on Tourism-Purpose Sporting Activities — Official Gazette no. 27855, 23 February 2011 (Resmî Gazete).
Operators must hold an annual governorate permit, employ federation-certified guides and carry accident plus liability insurance for every guest (OG 27855).

The Türkiye Rafting Federation was closed on 23 August 2022 and merged into the Türkiye Kano Federasyonu, now the sport's governing body (kano.org.tr).
