Almost every rafting trip in the region runs on the same stretch of the Koprucay river inside Koprulu Canyon National Park, near Beskonak. What actually changes from one resort to the next is the drive to get there. Here is an honest, region-by-region look at where rafting picks up along the Antalya coast and roughly how long each transfer takes.
One canyon, many pickup points
Koprulu Canyon sits around 50 km inland from the Side-Manavgat coast, roughly an hour by road for the closest resorts. The canyon is fixed; your hotel is not. That single fact explains why transfer times swing so widely between towns. The classic run is about 14 km of grade II-III water, with a shorter family version of around 12 km, and it is friendly enough for beginners and children from about age six or seven. A trained guide rides in every raft, and helmet and life jacket are always provided.
Free hotel pickup by minibus is standard almost everywhere. In practice that means a driver collects you from your hotel or a nearby meeting point in the morning, drives you up to the rafting base, and drops you back by late afternoon or early evening. We never quote an exact clock time in advance, because it depends on your hotel, the road and how many stops the minibus makes on the way. You will be given your specific window when you book.
Departure points by region
Side and the Manavgat corridor
This is the closest stretch of coast to the canyon, so transfers are the shortest, often around an hour each way. If you are staying anywhere between Side, Manavgat, Kumkoy, Colakli, Titreyengol, Evrenseki or Gundogdu, you are in the sweet spot: less time on the bus, more time on the water. Because this corridor is so well served, it is the natural home base for most trips. See the full local rundown on our rafting from Side page.
Belek
Belek sits a little further west along the coast, so the transfer is a touch longer than from Side, still comfortably within a morning drive. Pickups from Belek's resort hotels are routine, and the minibus route often takes in nearby villages before turning inland toward Beskonak.
Antalya (city and Lara/Konyaalti)
From central Antalya, Lara and Konyaalti the drive is longer again, as you are further west of the canyon turn-off. Expect more time on the road, so an earlier start is normal. It is still an easy day trip, and pickup from Antalya city hotels is widely offered.
Alanya
Alanya lies to the east of the canyon, and the coastal run from there is one of the longer transfers, so the day is fuller and the departure earlier. Guests from Alanya, Mahmutlar and the surrounding resorts are collected regularly; just factor in the extra road time when you plan the day.
Kemer
Kemer is the furthest west of the main resort areas, tucked beyond Antalya city. Transfers from Kemer are the longest of the group, so an early pickup and a long, scenic mountain drive are part of the experience. It remains a popular departure area despite the distance.
Which season, which route
The season runs roughly from April to the end of October. Spring snowmelt in April and May makes the rapids livelier and the water higher; high summer is gentler and better suited to families and first-timers. One constant across every departure point: the water is cold snowmelt even in July and August, so expect a bracing splash whatever the air temperature. How the free pickup actually works
When you book, you give your hotel name and area. The operator groups nearby pickups onto the same minibus, which is why a precise time only firms up close to the day. Transfer is included at no extra charge from the standard resort areas; very remote hotels may occasionally need a short connecting hop, which you will be told about in advance. Booking direct is usually cheaper than buying through a hotel rep, and it keeps the pickup details in one place.
What actually changes the price
Transfer distance is only one factor. Price is also shaped by route length (classic versus family), whether you go as part of a group or book a private raft, any combo add-ons such as a jeep safari or zipline, and optional photos or video of your run. Rather than trust a number quoted on a flyer, always check the live figure on the booking page for your dates.
