Bogazkent is the quiet, sandy end of the Belek coast, and it happens to be one of the easiest resorts to leave for a morning on the Koprucay river. Here is exactly how a rafting day works from your hotel door.
Pickup from your Bogazkent hotel
Free hotel pickup by minibus is standard from Bogazkent, so you do not need a hire car or a taxi to reach the canyon. On the morning of your trip a comfortable minibus collects you from your hotel or a nearby meeting point, then loops through the resort to gather the rest of the group before heading inland.
Pickup is in the morning; we will confirm your window the day before rather than promise an exact clock time, because it depends on where your hotel sits on the collection route. The golden rule is simple: be ready in reception a little early, in comfortable clothes and swimwear, with a towel and a change of clothes in a small bag.
The journey: around one hour to Koprulu Canyon
From Bogazkent the drive up to Koprulu Canyon National Park near Beskonak takes around an hour in normal traffic. The road leaves the coastal plain behind and climbs gently into pine forest and mountain scenery, following the valley of the Koprucay as the air turns cooler and fresher.
It is a genuinely pleasant transfer rather than dead time. Sit on the right where you can, keep your camera handy for the canyon views, and use the ride to relax before the active part of the day begins.
The rafting day itself
Once you arrive at the riverside base you are given your gear: helmet, life jacket and paddle, with wetsuits available when the water is cold. A qualified guide travels in every raft, briefs you on the strokes and safety signals, and stays with your boat for the whole descent, so no experience is needed.
The classic run covers around 14 kilometres of grade II-III water through the heart of the canyon. Expect lively, splashy rapids linked by calm, glassy stretches where you can drift, swim in the cold snowmelk water and take in the towering rock walls and ancient stone bridge. It is exciting enough to feel real but gentle enough for families and first-timers.
After the run there is time to dry off and eat before the minibus brings you back down to the coast. You will typically be back at your Bogazkent hotel in the late afternoon or early evening, in good time for dinner.
When to go
The season runs from around April to October. Spring and early summer bring the fullest, coldest water straight off the mountains, while high summer offers warmer, easier days that suit families with children. Whenever you visit, mornings are the best choice, giving you cooler air on the river and a relaxed return to the resort. Honest advice on price
What you pay is driven by a few real things: whether transfers are included, the length of run, group size and any add-on activities such as zipline or quad safari bundled onto the day. Booking direct with the operator is almost always better value than paying a hotel rep or a large online marketplace, both of which add their own commission on top.
We do not quote figures here because live prices shift with the season, so always check the current rate before you commit. You can compare the full range on our tours page and pick the day that suits your group.
