The five-star strip at Lara and Kundu sits beautifully beside Antalya, and it is one of the easiest bases from which to reach the white water of Koprulu Canyon. This guide covers exactly how rafting from Lara pick up works, so you can plan the day with confidence.
How hotel pickup works from Lara and Kundu
Free hotel pickup by minibus is standard from the Lara and Kundu resorts, so you do not need a hire car or a taxi. You will be collected from your hotel in the morning; the exact time depends on where your hotel sits along the strip and the order of the pickup run, so we confirm a window with you rather than a rigid clock time.
- Where to wait: your hotel lobby or main reception entrance is the usual meeting point.
- What to bring: swimwear under your clothes, a towel, a change of dry clothes, sun cream and a little cash for lunch or extras.
- Footwear: trainers or sandals with a heel strap that can get wet; flip-flops tend to float away.
If you book direct through our rafting from Lara page, your pickup point is logged against your booking, which keeps the morning run smooth.
The journey: around 1.25 hours to the canyon
From the Lara and Kundu strip the drive up to Koprulu Canyon National Park, near Beskonak, takes around an hour and a quarter each way. The route climbs gently out of the coastal plain and into pine-clad hills, following the Koprucay river as it cuts through the gorge. It is a scenic run rather than a chore, and the air cools noticeably as you gain height.
Because Lara sits a touch further east than Belek, the journey is marginally longer than from the golf resorts, but it remains a comfortable morning transfer. Most guests are back at their hotel by late afternoon or early evening.
The rafting day itself
On arrival at the riverside base you are fitted with a helmet, buoyancy aid and paddle, and given a full safety briefing. A qualified guide travels in every raft, steering the boat and calling the paddle commands, so no previous experience is needed.
What the run is like
The classic descent covers roughly 14 kilometres of grade II-III water. That means lively, splash-filled rapids interspersed with calmer stretches where you can drift, take in the canyon walls and cool off. The water is fresh snowmelt and genuinely cold even in high summer, which is part of the appeal on a hot Antalya day.
- Family friendly: the classic grade II-III route suits families, couples and mixed-ability groups.
- Season: rafting runs from roughly April to October.
- Gear: helmet, buoyancy aid and paddle are all provided.
There is usually time at the riverside for a break and lunch before the transfer back, so the whole outing has an unhurried, well-paced feel.
Honest advice on pricing
Prices vary with the season, the length of the run and whether extras such as photos or additional activities are included. As a rule, booking direct with the operator works out better value than going through a hotel guest-relations rep or a large online marketplace, both of which add their own commission. Rather than quote a figure that may be out of date, we always show the current, all-in price at the point of booking.
