Torn between white-water rafting and a dusty off-road buggy safari? They're both brilliant Antalya adventures, but they scratch very different itches — and the honest answer is that many travellers love doing both in one day.
Rafting puts you in the water. Our day tours run in Köprülü Canyon, where the Köprüçay river serves up Class II–III rapids that are genuinely family-friendly (from around €20), or Tazı Canyon, a Class IV–V ride for the adrenaline crowd on our extreme trips. Every rafting tour includes free hotel transfer, professional guides, all gear, insurance and (on most trips) lunch by the river. You pay on the tour day — nothing upfront — and the season runs roughly April to October.
A buggy safari is the flip side: you're at the wheel, powering a two-seater off-road buggy along forest tracks, splashing through mud and kicking up dust. It's more about driving skill and control than surrendering to the current, and it runs across a longer season since it doesn't depend on river flow.
So it's less "which is better" and more "what do you want to feel today" — the cool rush of a rapid, or the throttle-happy grip of an off-road trail. If you can't decide, our rafting-plus-off-road combos pair both into a single, transfer-included day. Below we lay it out side by side, then give a clear verdict.
Pick rafting if you want to get wet, work as a team and choose your own intensity (gentle Köprülü or wild Tazı); pick the buggy if you'd rather be behind the wheel. Honestly, though, the smart move is our combo — do both in one transfer-included day and skip the choice entirely.
White Water GR II If you want the only sounds you hear to be paddles splashing, roaring water and laughter, you are in the right place.
White Water GR III Your morning begins the easy way, with a comfortable pickup right outside your Belek hotel as the air-conditioned coach winds inland toward the Taurus…
It depends on the version. Köprülü Canyon rafting (Class II–III) is moderate and family-friendly, while Tazı Canyon (Class IV–V) is properly intense. A buggy safari is high-energy but self-paced — you decide how hard to push the throttle.
Yes. We sell combo tours that pair rafting with off-road driving (buggy, quad or jeep) in a single day, with free hotel transfer included. See our combos page — it's the most popular way to get both experiences.
Rafting, by far — you'll be soaked, and that's the fun of it. A buggy safari is mainly a dusty experience, though you can catch muddy splashes on wet forest tracks.
Köprülü Canyon rafting is well-suited to families and first-timers. Guides, gear and insurance are all included; check our family page for age guidance on each trip.
The rafting season runs roughly April to October, depending on river flow. Buggy safaris run over a longer season since they don't depend on the water level.
